U.S. BIS updates “unverified list”
Parties listed on the unverified list are ineligible to receive items subject to the EAR by means of a license exception.
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the U.S. Commerce Department today released a final rule amending the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by revising the unverified list (UVL) as follows:
- Adding eight persons, under the destinations of China (3), Germany (2), Pakistan (1), and Türkiye (2)
- Removing two persons, under the destinations of Saudi Arabia (1) and China (1)
Background
According to the BIS website, parties listed on the UVL are ineligible to receive items subject to the EAR by means of a license exception. In addition, exporters must file an Automated Export System record for all exports to parties listed on the UVL and obtain a statement from such parties prior to exporting, reexporting, or transferring to such parties any item subject to the EAR that is not subject to a license requirement.
