The government on September 19, 2024, launched a public consultation on draft legislation fully implementing the OECD’s Pillar Two rules as set out under the EU minimum tax directive.

This follows the previous partial implementation of the global anti-base erosion (GloBE) rules in accordance with Lithuania’s election to defer application of the income inclusion rule (IIR) and undertaxed profits rule (UTPR).

The proposed Pillar Two rules would closely follow the text of the EU minimum tax directive.
