Information on R&D expenditure incurred by 11,545 companies in the 2021-22 income year
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on October 3, 2024, issued its first annual research and development (R&D) tax incentive transparency report, providing insights on the $11.2 billion* in total R&D expenditure incurred by 11,545 companies in the 2021-22 income year and $4.9 billion in R&D expenditure claimed under the R&D tax incentive.
The report was accompanied by the release of a large raw data set with the names (including ABNs and ACNs) of the relevant companies.
