Morikawa Magic at Pebble Beach

Collin Morikawa earns 7th career PGA Tour victory

Collin Morikawa is back in the winner's circle on the PGA Tour.

Spurred by an incredible final 36 holes that featured 18 birdies, the 29-year-old came from behind on Sunday to claim a one-shot victory at the 2026 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the seventh of his PGA Tour career. An emotional Morikawa took the opportunity to share some exciting news in his post-round interview on the 18th green.

“We (Collin and his wife, Kat) are actually expecting later this year in a few months. We just started telling people this week and we said what better way to just announce it to the world if I was able to come out and win,” Morikawa said. “There's so much to life and there's so much to enjoy. I'm just so thankful for the people around me - my wife, my parents, my brother - I'm speechless right now.”

Morikawa was eight off the lead heading into Saturday’s third round but vaulted himself into contention with a -10 (62), the second-best round of his career. Taking advantage of the prime scoring conditions early in the day at Pebble Beach, Morikawa hit all 18 greens in regulation and registered 11 birdies, enough to earn a spot in the final group on Sunday, just two behind leader Ashkay Bhatia. In the past 40 years, only three other players have made 11 birdies or better at Pebble Beach.

“It felt like one of the best rounds I’ve had in years,” Morikawa said of his Saturday performance. “I didn’t get any good or bad breaks all day, and I played really good golf.”

In Sunday’s final round, Morikawa was steady through the front nine and was tied for the lead after 14 holes. After two clutch birdies on 15 and 16 and a bogey on 17, Morikawa was tied for the lead with only the par-5 18th to play. Finding the fairway off the tee, Morikawa endured a 20-minute wait between shots before knocking his approach just off the green. Two putts later, it was over, and Morikawa stepped back into the limelight as a winner at one of golf’s iconic venues.

“I'm going to try and stay as in the moment as much I can,” Morikawa said. “I look back when I first turned pro and I had some wins, and I just looked too far ahead. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not. I think I'm going to change that perspective and just enjoy where I'm at right now. Shoot - we’re at Pebble Beach, so I’m going to enjoy this one.”

If there’s ever a victory to enjoy for Morikawa, it would be this one. It had been 848 days since Morikawa last tasted victory, and more than four years since his last win on American soil. But his belief never wavered, and when asked what he was most proud of in relation to his victory at Pebble Beach, Morikawa was quick to recognize his support system.

“Everyone behind me – my team, my wife - they've all believed in me and they knew it was going to come, and I never let go of that,” Morikawa said. “It's hard to think that you're still that same person just a little bit wiser, a little bit more mature, but there's a lot of hope and there's a bright future ahead. I'm going to enjoy this one for sure.”

With the victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Morikawa jumped to No. 5 in the World Golf Rankings and third in the FedEx Cup standings. Morikawa will look to keep the momentum going next week at the Genesis Open in his hometown of Los Angeles.

Congratulations Collin on a memorable victory and best of luck throughout the 2026 season!
