KPMG is deploying AI agents to build an AI-native finance function.

April 22, 2026

NEW YORK, NY & LAS VEGAS, NV– April 22, 2026 – KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, today announced an expansion of its strategic alliance with Google Cloud aimed at helping clients in highly regulated industries safely and effectively deploy generative AI. The new collaboration between Google Cloud and KPMG combines KPMG’s deep regulatory and industry expertise with Google Cloud’s powerful Gemini Enterprise platform to solve complex business challenges, even in highly regulated industries or business functions. KPMG is using Gemini Enterprise to boost financial efficiency, while systematically reducing regulatory risk through enhanced accuracy and auditability. This work demonstrates how Gemini Enterprise enforces governance in complex operations where compliance is paramount, enabling clients to pioneer AI-native business functions with security and compliance at the forefront.

“Gemini Enterprise is unlocking tangible business outcomes, fundamentally reshaping the world of work,” said Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Partner Ecosystem, Google Cloud. “Together with KPMG, we’re enabling customers to deploy autonomous AI agents that move beyond simple automation to reason through complex regulatory hurdles, enhancing governance and precision in their most critical operations.”

Transforming Finance Operations with AI-Driven Solutions

To address challenges in finance operations, KPMG developed solutions using Gemini Enterprise to create an AI-native finance function for a major healthcare services and products company. This includes an AI agent that transforms the complex, manual process of pricing disputes into an automated and insightful workflow, empowering analysts, and unlocking significant working capital. This includes streamlining complex processes to focus more on high-value analysis and decision making.

For organizations in regulated fields, adopting new technology is not just about innovation, but about maintaining compliance, security, and public trust. KPMG's long-standing expertise in audit, tax, and advisory provides crucial guardrails for AI deployment. Drawing on our Trusted AI framework, we help clients embed transparency, explainability, and governance into every stage of the AI lifecycle, ensuring systems act within clear ethical and operational boundaries. This deep regulatory and assurance heritage enables us to design AI solutions that are not only technologically advanced, but also aligned to enterprise values, built for accountability, and capable of scaling with confidence.

"Our clients in regulated industries are eager to embrace AI, and they need a partner who speaks their language and understands their unique risks and responsibilities," said Mark Shank, Principal, Google Cloud Platform Leader at KPMG. "Our alliance with Google Cloud allows us to bring the power of Gemini Enterprise to bear on their most pressing issues. Our own experience has shown us how to deliver trusted, practical AI solutions that are built for the complexities of their world."

KPMG is also building a Forward Deployed Engineering capability in association with KPMG’s Google Cloud Practice to help clients put KPMG AI Assets to work in real business environments. These engineers are working alongside client teams to accelerate implementation, tailor solutions to business and technical realities, and ensure our assets deliver practical, measurable impact. In doing so, they create a tighter path from innovation to adoption, helping clients realize value faster and more effectively.

This work represents the next frontier of AI adoption: embedding autonomous, governed AI agents that plan, act, and learn within core finance operations—establishing a new foundation for continuous reinvention.

KPMG Fast-Tracks Innovation by Deploying Gemini Enterprise to 55,000 Professionals Worldwide

KPMG's ability to rapidly innovate for clients stems directly from its own successful internal adoption of generative AI and implementation of the latest technologies as soon as they are available. The firm has deployed Gemini Enterprise to over 55,000 of its professionals globally, creating a powerful environment for hands-on learning and development. This experience has uniquely positioned KPMG to understand the practical challenges of implementation and to translate that knowledge into effective client solutions.
