New York – August 6, 2024 – KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax, and advisory firm, is proud to announce its third annual Community Impact Day (CID), a nationwide initiative dedicated to giving back to the communities where KPMG employees live and work. Today, employees from 79 offices across the U.S. will come together to volunteer their time and skills to support more than 400 local non-profit organizations, programs, and initiatives that advance equity across education, mental health, and community vitality.
“Community Impact Day brings our people together and gives us the opportunity as a professional services firm to make the difference by devoting our skills, resources and time to help transform our communities,” said Paul Knopp, Chair and CEO, KPMG LLP. “Our commitment to investing in our communities is ongoing and our extraordinary people are at the heart of this important work.”
One way KPMG is continuing to evolve this day of service is by offering skills-based volunteer opportunities centered around the firm’s AI Impact Initiative. This CID, KPMG employees will be offering skills-based AI services to non-profit leaders to help them understand new capabilities and applications made possible by AI.
The KPMG U.S. Foundation, in collaboration with KPMG HUB markets, will also contribute $2.7 million in community vitality grants in 21 U.S. markets to support organizations taking a holistic approach to addressing interconnected issues unique to each community.
To further support the firm’s place-based approach, the KPMG U.S. Foundation will also contribute an additional $1 million in grants over the next three years to non-profit organizations in both New York and Orlando. These markets are significant to the firm, with New York as our national headquarters and Orlando as the location of KPMG Lakehouse, our cultural home and state-of-the-art learning and innovation center.
Collectively, the grants across all HUB markets, as well as New York and Orlando, will support non-profits' work aligned with KPMG’s pillars of mental health, education, and community vitality.
“Increasing access to education and mental health and empowering our people to take an active role in improving community vitality are cornerstones of Community Impact Day,” said Anita Whitehead, President and Chair of the KPMG U.S. Foundation. “This annual day of service is about our employees – each year it is an opportunity for our people to reconnect over supporting a cause they are passionate about, fostering a better sense of connection, purpose and wellbeing. It is also about deepening our commitment to accelerating transformative change in the communities where we live and work.”
This year's CID builds upon the success of previous years and reflects KPMG's ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the communities it serves. In 2022, KPMG celebrated its 125th anniversary with a day of service and a $125 million commitment from the KPMG U.S. Foundation over five years to support programs that will improve equity and access in our communities.
