Principal

Jennifer S. White is a Principal in KPMG's State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, based in the Stamford, CT office. She is a member of the firm's SALT Controversy practice. Jennifer advises a diverse range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to high-net-worth individuals, on complex state and local tax matters. Her practice focuses on all stages of tax controversy, including audit defense, administrative appeals, and litigation, as well as proactive tax planning and cost-saving strategies.

Before joining KPMG in 2022, Jennifer was a Partner in the State and Local Tax group at Reed Smith LLP in New York for nearly a decade. Earlier in her career, she gained experience as a legal intern with the New York City Department of Finance and Penton Media's Trusts & Estates publication. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable David J. Kaplan in the New York City Civil Court, Housing Part.

Jennifer earned her J.D. with a concentration in Taxation from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and is a member of several professional organizations, including the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
