Jan is a Tax Director with KPMG AG in the Corporate Tax practice. Based in the Frankfurt Office, Jan is a certified tax advisor specializing in tax advice for German inbound clients and the newly established German R&D tax credit.
Over the last 12 years at KPMG, Jan has assisted numerous US-based multinationals in German tax matters. With the first introduction of a German R&D tax incentive effective from 2020 onwards, Jan has led the set-up of a team to assist clients in all aspects of obtaining such R&D tax credit and has led various clients through the first successful applications.
Prior to joining KPMG, Jan was an assistant professor at the university of Düsseldorf where he received a PhD in business taxation.
