Randall is a Specialist Director within the KPMG Lighthouse practice. He works with a team of developers who help to provide big data solutions and architect fast and robust ways of analyzing data across various platforms. His main expertise revolves around SQL and Unix scripting working on some of the largest databases in the world. He supports a wide range of teams and individuals inside and outside of the company; from R&D and statistical analyst to engineers and C-level executives.
Professional and Industry Experience
Randall has over 7 years of IT work in the Telecom industry. He has worked inside major carrier’s billing and usage systems as well as a vendor utilizing the billions of daily call detail records to help drive marketing and networking solutions. More recently, Randall has spent over 2 years in the healthcare industry apply his big data architecture and solutions to managing the ever-growing data landscape surrounding patient medical records and facilitators.
Solutions Delivered
- Enabled Data Lake for healthcare claims both in Hadoop and in Azure cloud.
- Designed and implemented claims common data model along with a more holistic healthcare common data warehouse.
- Development lead for several healthcare solutions with a team both onshore and offshore. Key deliverable of a custom cloud based data ingestion framework.
- Helped develop and build Customer Centric Pricing for a national bank. Built database schema carving out specific space inside of Teradata utilizing an ETL process to pull from a DB2 EDW.
- Created a custom data warehouse for a top 4 mobile carriers allowing for quicker in-depth analysis of their rent and lease contracts and equipment. This data warehouse was built from the ground up inside a virtual environment pulling from various sources including Oracle, SQL Server, and even Excel Spreadsheets.
- Help design a comprehensive Health Insurance claims data warehouse. To allow for the intake of claims from multiple insurance companies to better track patients’ life cycle.
- Help develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive market analysis engine from the use of CDR aggregation. Customer call details were analyzed providing in depth competitive market share insight exponentially surpassing previous survey methods. The StreamShare© product has now been successfully implemented in 5 major carriers.
- Combining CDRs with engineering network data and billing information helped build a 360 behavioral data product for a tier1 mobile telecom provider. This product with over 17,000 data points drove new insights and customized marketing campaigns to existing customer base. Was also responsible in ensuring the product was available on 3 different data systems within the company.
