Brett Thompson

Brett is a principal in the KPMG Economic & Valuation Services practice based in New York. His focus is on helping clients solve complex problems, comply with regulatory requirements, and make better decisions around their portfolios, primarily focused on real estate. He co-leads valuation services for Alternative Investments in the U.S.

Brett specializes in valuations and transaction support for complex real estate assets, debt, and large real estate-based portfolios. His clients have ranged from multinational corporations to complex investment funds to REITs to local developers and municipalities. In this capacity, Brett has been active in valuations, acquisition due diligence, underwriting, loan reviews, sell-side/disposition analysis, and joint venture structuring. His focus is on understanding the specific drivers behind cash flows and value at the property, portfolio, and entity level.
