Jessica Teng
Senior Manager, Washington National Tax
Jessica is a Senior Manager in the Passthroughs group for the KPMG Washington National Tax practice. She focuses on the federal taxation of passthrough entities and provides advisory services, including structuring and tax planning. Jessica has experience advising on joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and restructurings as well as preparing memoranda, private letter ruling requests, and tax opinions.
Prior to joining KPMG, Jessica was a manager in the national tax department of another Big Four firm specializing in the federal taxation of passthrough entities. At her prior firm, Jessica primarily assisted REIT clients with structuring and transactional matters and advised on REIT qualification under the REIT rules. She also assisted with the representation of tax-exempt clients and advised on the U.S. federal tax implications with respect to investments in domestic and foreign private equity funds, hedge funds, and real estate funds.
Jessica has an LLM degree and JD degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and a BS degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.

The Passthroughs group is responsible for providing insight to KPMG professionals and clients regarding the federal taxation of partnerships, real estate investment trusts, and S corporations across all major industries. In addition, the Passthroughs group advises in specialty areas such as like-kind exchanges, oil and gas, leasing, and excise taxes. Client services include transaction structuring, the issuance of opinions, and requesting private letter rulings.
