Matt is a senior manager in the passthroughs group of KPMG Washington National Tax. Prior to joining WNT, he was a manager in the KPMG M&A Tax practice and a member of the KPMG Partnership Transactions Group, focusing on tax and structuring consultation related to a variety of complex partnership transactions. He joined the firm in January 2018 and first served in the Business Tax Services group prior to joining the M&A Tax practice in 2020.
Matt is responsible for executing the lifecycle of partnership deals, from tax due diligence and structuring to post-deal mechanics and compliance. These deals often entail partnership formation/liquidation issues, modeling of allocations and exits, capital/basis rollforwards, umbrella partnership C corporation (UP-C) planning, and analysis of the impact of changes in tax law. He has served various industries, including private equity, renewable energy, digital media, and insurance services.
