Chris Riccardi, resident in the KPMG Atlanta office, focuses on international tax issues affecting multinational groups. He primarily advises U.S.-based multinationals in various industries regarding the U.S. federal income taxation of their overseas operations, restructurings, financings, and cash repatriations. He has particular experience assisting clients with section 965 mandatory repatriation, foreign tax credits, and expense allocation and apportionment.
Additionally, Chris has advised non-U.S. individuals, investment funds, and foreign corporations regarding the U.S. federal income taxation of their investments into and business activities within the United States, specifically including advice on U.S. trade or business and effectively connected income determinations, withholding taxes, beneficial owner documentation, and the application of U.S. income tax treaties.
Prior to joining KPMG, Chris was an associate with a large Atlanta-based law firm and another Big 4 accounting firm. Prior to law school, Chris worked in the finance function of a large consumer products manufacturer.
Chris earned an LLM degree in taxation from New York University School of Law; a JD degree from The University of Tennessee College of Law; and a BSBA degree in economics from The University of Tennessee College of Business Administration.
