Matt is an accomplished senior executive, with a track record of leading global security programs at top-tier organizations in both private and public sectors. He has expertise in developing and implementing robust security programs, enhancing organizational resilience, and leading complex incident response activities. Additionally, he is adept at navigating compliance requirements and leading enterprise-level transformational change to align security strategies with business goals.
Matt has substantial experience leading enterprise security programs, with a focus on assessing security posture, determining acceptable levels of risk, delivering new and enhanced capabilities to minimize risk, and leading complex incident response activities. Prior to becoming the first Chief Security Officer at KMPG, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at both KPMG and at the Central Intelligence Agency, where he led transformative security initiatives that simultaneously reduced risk and enabled business success. He also provides his expertise to client engagements across multiple sectors, including Federal, Cyber, Technology, and other business domains.
In addition to his role within KPMG, Matt serves as Chair of the Advisory Board for George Mason University’s (GMU) Center of Excellence in Government Cybersecurity Risk Management and Resilience. He also supports the Advisory Board for GMU’s College of Engineering and Computing.
