Chris Pollock is a Senior Manager in the KPMG Mergers & Acquisitions Tax Practice, based in Silicon Valley. He joined KPMG in 2011 after earning a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
Chris specializes in providing M&A Tax advice to a diverse clients, including domestic, multi-national and foreign-owned clients. His expertise encompasses performing tax due diligence, offering acquisition-related tax advice, and structuring guidance for taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions. He also drafts technical memoranda on various U.S. federal tax structures and issues, analyzes the implications of Section 385 for related party debt issuances, conducts Section 1502 stock basis studies and Section 382 studies, and assesses the deductibility of costs for acquisitive and divisive transactions. Additionally, Chris models the effective tax impact of alternative structures. During his tenure, he completed an 18-month rotation with KPMG’s Washington National Tax in the Corporate Tax Group, located in Washington, D.C.
