Mark Naretti is an information reporting professional providing assistance to U.S. and overseas financial institutions in relation to chapters 3 and 61 of the Internal Revenue Code and assistance understanding the continued development of the chapter 4 (FATCA) rules. He has more than 15 years of experience providing tax advisory services to domestic and foreign financial institutions in relation to U.S. withholding tax matters.

Prior to moving to the U.S. on a permanent basis in 2006, Mark headed up Operational Tax Group for KPMG in the United Kingdom. Based in London, this group provided tax consulting services in relation to cross-border withholding taxes to financial sector clients.

Prior to joining KPMG in the United Kingdom, Mark worked extensively in the global custody industry. He previously worked for SG Warburg & Co. as Head of Operational Taxes and performed the same role for RBS Trust Bank immediately prior to commencing his role at KPMG in the United Kingdom.

Mark was a member of the Bankers Association’s (BBA) QI Working Group that negotiated with the IRS during the development of the QI rules. He is a regular public speaker on QI and FATCA related matters on both sides of the Atlantic.
