Katie Morgan is a Director in the Accounting for Income Taxes group in KPMG’s Washington National Tax Practice. She has 18 years of experience at KPMG in providing accounting for income taxes and tax compliance services to both public and privately held companies.
Professional and Industry Experience
Katie has worked with a broad range of U.S. multistate and multinational companies in several different industries including oil and gas, chemicals, construction, and consumer markets. She focuses primarily in the subject area of accounting for income taxes.
Katie’s professional experience includes the following:
- Preparation and review of quarterly and year-end income tax calculations for multinational corporations, including assistance with the calculation of valuation allowances and ASC 740-10 (FIN 48) exposures
- Creation of SOX controls and testing procedures including participation in walkthroughs with internal and external auditors, and updating controls as tax processes/functions evolved
- Audit support for public and privately held companies to review the income tax calculation and related financial statement disclosures
- Development and delivery of firm training and external presentations on ASC 740
