Doug Maziur
Principal, State and Local Tax
Doug Maziur has more than 14 years of experience advising clients on all types of state and local tax issues. Doug also serves as one of the KPMG State Tax Resource Network member for Texas franchise tax and Louisiana income/franchise tax. He joined KPMG in January 2011. Prior to that, he worked for another major accounting firm assisting clients with state income and franchise tax and sales and use tax consulting and compliance.
Doug's multi-state tax experience includes identifying and implementing state income and franchise tax saving opportunities; obtaining state tax refunds for clients based on industry-specific issues; managing state tax audits and assisting clients with voluntary disclosure negotiations; researching and providing resolutions for a wide range of state tax issues; assisting clients with mergrers and acquisitions; and securing state tax credits and incentives for clients.
Doug has worked with clients in a multitude of different industries including energy, manufacturing, consumer markets, industrial products and services, financial services, real estate, and publishing.
Doug currently serves as the Treasurer for the Houston Institute of Professionals in Taxation Luncheon Group.
