John-Michael has over 23 years of finance and accounting experience providing financial reporting assistance, technical accounting guidance, and other services. John-Michael has served as a national instructor on various topics, including revenue recognition, business combinations and leasing. He completed a rotation within KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice where he assisted in developing firm guidance under the FASB’s Accounting Standards Codification. John-Michael also worked within KPMG’s Audit practice for over nine years and as a vice president in Goldman Sachs’ Finance Division for two years.

- Additionally, John-Michael is a recognized leader within KPMG’s capital markets services team, providing consultation to large and mid-market non-public companies in a variety of industries, focused on construction and engineering and industrial manufacturing companies.
- As US Accounting Advisory Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) leader for the Industrial Manufacturing, Energy, Natural Resources, Chemicals and Power & Utilities industries, John-Michael has extensive experience as a Sustainability subject matter professional, providing support for financial reporting, transactions, internal controls, process, data, technology, strategy and risk management engagements for Private Equity and Corporate clients, including support for domestic and global clients adopting SEC climate, EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) regulations.

- Cross-functional leader of capital markets readiness services for a pre-IPO engineering and construction company and a pre-merger SPAC. Services included drafting SEC-compliant S-1, 10-K and 10-Q filings; documenting technical accounting positions and accounting policies; designing and implementing internal controls and processes; establishing a public-ready corporate governance function; improving management reporting functions; accelerating financial close; assessing technology and systems; evaluating the existing tax function and implementing improvements; enhancing financial planning and analysis; evaluating equity story, et al.
