Rick Hill
Partner, State & Local Tax
Rick serves as the Tax Leader for KPMG’s national Industrial Manufacturing sector. He has more than 25 years of experience in state and local tax consulting, compliance, comprehensive state tax planning, and advocacy. Rick also leads KPMG’s state tax practice in the firm’s Hartford office.
Rick’s practice focuses on state and local tax analysis of international and domestic restructurings, audit representation, tax incentives, compliance, and unclaimed property. Rick has led a KPMG team that has secured more than $500 million in state and local tax incentives for a Fortune 50 industrial manufacturing client over the past seven years. He has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies in Connecticut and multistate tax audits and appeals.
Rick consults with clients in a variety of industries on ASC 740 and FIN 48 issues involving Connecticut and multistate taxation. Rick leads teams that prepare state tax income/franchise tax returns for Fortune 500 and middle market clients in a variety of industries.
Rick is a member and past Chairman of the State Taxation Committee of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. Rick is a member of the Tax Committee of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association. Rick has been employed with KPMG since 1995 and serves as KPMG’s State Tax Resource Network member for Connecticut.
