Richard A. Hill

Richard is the Partner-in-Charge of the State and Local Tax group with the KPMG Washington National Tax practice with more than 26 years of experience. He serves as the KPMG tax industry leader for the Industrial Manufacturing sector. In this capacity, Rick leads a team that brings tax insights to FORTUNE 500 companies operating in the Aerospace and Defense, Automotive, and Diversified Industrials/Congolomerates segments. His team helps deploy technology to reduce cost and increase the efficiency of tax compliance processes. Rick advises clients on the tax impact of restructurings, acquisitions, divestitures, and other business changes, and helps clients develop and implement effective tax planning. Rick also advises public clients on the financial reporting tax matters consistent with the ASC740 and ASC450 standards. 

Rick also services as lead tax partner on a FORTUNE 50 industrial manufacturer. He leads a diverse team of KPMG tax professionals serving the comprehensive needs of this client and others, including accounting methods and credits, controversies and audit examinations, international tax, M&A, return preparation (for all tax types including net income, franchise, sales and use, gross receipts, real and personal property, value added tax, and business license renewals), state and local tax incentives, tax technology, trade and customs duties and tariffs, transfer pricing, unclaimed property, and valuations.
