Teri is a Director with the KPMG Trade & Customs practice based in the New York City office. In this role, Teri works with clients to navigate complex trade compliance and audit challenges, leveraging deep expertise in trade enforcement and regulatory audits. She assists clients in anticipating regulatory developments, strengthening compliance programs, and mitigating risk through strategic guidance. Teri regularly advises on CBP audit procedures, information requests, and enforcement trends, providing actionable insights to help clients align with regulatory expectations.Before joining KPMG, Teri served more than 36 years with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where she held the position of New York Field Director for the Office of Trade Regulatory Audit. In that capacity, she oversaw the World Trade Center and JFK branches and led national trade enforcement operations and audits across diverse industries, focusing on CBP’s Priority Trade Issues.
Teri’s past experience includes spearheading over 75 annual audit assignments, leading numerous EAPA investigations, and providing critical support for DOJ False Claims Act cases. She directed complex, nationwide trade enforcement operations and collaborated with CBP’s Centers of Excellence and Expertise, Fines, Penalties and Forfeitures, and DHS Homeland Security Investigations to drive impactful enforcement outcomes.
