Irina is a Managing Director in the KPMG Department of Professional Practice (DPP) in the Accounting Group. She has more than 15 years of experience providing a broad range of US GAAP and IFRS accounting services, including transaction analysis, accounting implementation, and audit support.
In Irina’s current role, she supports engagement teams and clients with the interpretation and application of accounting standards under both US GAAP and IFRS. She is a member of the Financial Assets and Services, Consolidation, Derivatives and Hedging, and Materiality, Error Correction and Restatement topic teams. She also performs IFRS pre-issuance reviews and works on regulatory banking matters.
Prior to joining DPP, Irina completed a fellowship at the Office of the Comptroller of Currency (OCC) and worked in KPMG’s Accounting Advisory practice focusing on banking and insurance sector clients. Irina has served as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the OCC from September 2015 – January 2019. During her fellowship, Irina was a lead in monitoring preparedness and readiness efforts related to the implementation of the current expected credit losses (CECL) methodology across mid-size and large banks. Irina also provided financial institutions and examination teams accounting support for complex transactions, target examinations on emerging accounting matters, and the implementation of new financial instruments accounting standards.
