Patrick Garguilo

Patrick is a partner in the KPMG Department of Professional Practice (DPP) in New York. He has over 35 years of experience in servicing clients, with a present focus on Financial Assets, Derivatives & Foreign Currency, and Debt & Equity topics. He provides technical accounting assistance to KPMG engagement teams and clients on the application of US GAAP. Patrick is an SEC Reviewing Partner for financial service clients.
Previously, Patrick was a practice fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) where he spent most of his time on financial instruments and related issues. At the FASB, he researched and participated in the resolution of technical issues for the Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF) and the Derivatives Implementation Group (DIG).
During his career at KPMG, Patrick has undertaken short-term rotations to Tokyo, Japan; Frankfurt, Germany; and Zurich, Switzerland. He frequently authors and co-authors various KPMG publications and updates to KPMG publications related to financial instruments. Patrick also moderates/speaks at local and national conferences related to existing, proposed, emerging and new accounting literature.
Patrick has a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Albany and is a licensed CPA in New York.
