Jaime Esswein

Jaime is a Director in KPMG's Deal Advisory practice with a focus on technical accounting, capital market transactions, and merger and acquisition support. With an emphasis on the healthcare and life sciences industry, she provides advice on a variety of issues such as business combinations, revenue recognition, collaboration agreements, leasing, consolidation and IFRS.

Professional and industry experience

Jaime focuses provided technical accounting support in areas such as business combinations, leases, consolidation, debt, US GAAP Conversion and other topics for a range of industries, focusing primarily in the healthcare and life sciences industry. Her core strengths and accomplishments include:

• Identified and remediated gaps in current client accounting policy by performing detailed contract reviews and inquiries with client process owners.
• Providing IPO assistance related to assessment and S-1 filings.
• Other advisory experience includes assisting with buy-side post-deal accounting issues in the life sciences industries. Jaime has worked on post-acquisition integration, accounting policy development, IFRS gap assessments and accounting systems implementation.
• She has also assisted in clients in complying with the SEC regulatory requirements related to significant acquisitions by assisting in the preparation of 8-K pro forma financial statements and ASC 805 pro forma disclosures.

Jaime has experience assisting clients with the quarterly close process through the first year of post-acquisition integration, including reviewing reporting packages, IFRS to U.S. GAAP adjustments, policy adjustments, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement fluctuations.
