Michal Dusza

Michal is an audit partner in the KPMG Department of Professional Practice (DPP). His experience spans more than 20 years in both the practice of public accounting and regulatory oversight with a focus on the reporting requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), auditing standards of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and internal control over financial reporting (ICFR).
As a partner in DPP, Michal assists audit teams and companies with complex auditing, accounting, and financial reporting matters. Michal has also worked on the firm’s implementation of new auditing standards and strengthening the firm's audit methodology. His experience also includes performing integrated audits of companies in the consumer goods and biotechnology industries, coaching engagement teams under the firm’s various audit quality initiatives, and developing and delivering training to KPMG professionals.
Prior to his current role, Michal served as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant of the SEC between June 2015 and October 2018. In this role, Michal focused primarily on matters involving independent audits, including assessments of ICFR. He also followed the activities of international auditing standard setters, consulted with registrants on ICFR and accounting matters and related reporting, supported other divisions and offices of the SEC in their interactions with registrants and auditors, and participated in the SEC’s various rulemaking initiatives.
