Kathleen Dale

Kathleen Dale is a principal in the International Tax group of KPMG LLP’s Washington National Tax practice and a member of firm’s Complex Transactions Group.

She assists clients in areas such as complex transactional planning, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s base erosion and profit shifting initiative, supply chain restructuring, and international tax controversy preparation and defense.

With more than 18 years of experience in international tax, Kathleen recently joined KPMG from a leading multinational American-based corporation, where she held a number of tax and treasury positions, most recently serving as international tax counsel in the corporate tax department. In this role, Kathleen advised management on the U.S. federal income tax consequences of strategic treasury initiatives and transactions, including repatriation planning, offshore cash management, entity rationalization and simplification, and the divestiture of one of its business units. With her background in tax controversy, Kathleen designed and implemented a process that ensured stakeholder connectivity along the entire transaction life cycle—from planning to audit defense. She also represented the company before the IRS and other taxing authorities. Previously, Kathleen served as vice president and tax counsel, where she advised the company on various international and transportation tax issues.

Earlier in her career, Kathleen worked in the Washington, DC office of Dewey Ballantine LLP, where she represented corporations, partnerships, and individuals before the IRS’s Examination Division, Appeals Office, and U.S. Federal Courts.

Kathleen holds a BA degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a JD degree from Georgetown University.
