Technical Director, Data Science • Firm Analytic - Signals
I am a director at KPMG with a background in economics, data science, financial product design, and computer science. I am a natural teacher with excellent communication and leadership skills. I am comfortable in the roles of project manager, research director, and software architect. In my previous role I advised management on new product and feature design, wrote instructions for programmers to build new products, and directed a research program to support our products and demonstrate value to customers. I enjoy being creative and productive, exploring new ideas, asking the right questions, and then communicating the answers to people who value them.
I was the Chief Operating Officer, Economist, and Data Scientist at Watchdog Research, a fintech startup. I enjoyed worked as a software architect designing and developing new data products. I wrote our Master Design Document, which were the instructions for the programmers to implement in order to create our reports and data products. I designed the Gray Swan Event Factor as a measure of a company's accounting & governance risk. I also directed a research program that demonstrated the value of the data and formed the basis of the Gray Swan Event Factor.
I am a former Associate Professor and Chair of Economics at Ave Maria University, where I taught economics and econometrics for nine years. I have experience teaching nearly every undergraduate course in economics, including Game Theory and Industrial Organization. I am an excellent teacher and communicator, and very comfortable presenting to an audience.
