Cathy Baumann

Cathy is a partner in KPMG‘s Great Lakes audit practice and is based in the Chicago office. She has over 28 years of experience working with not-for-profit entities, including major private higher education institutions and other charitable organizations.  She spent two years in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice developing accounting and auditing guidance for our higher education, research, and other-not-for-profit organizations audit practice and assisting teams with technical inquiries.

In addition to performing financial statement and compliance audits, Cathy serves as a Firm-designated Uniform Guidance Engagement Quality Control Reviewer and a SEC reviewing partner for tax-exempt debt offerings. She is also a KPMG national instructor and a frequent presenter on industry-related topics.
