Steve Barlock

Steve is a Partner in the KPMG Cyber practice with over 30 years of client service experience and more than 20 years specializing in information security. As the global lead for KPMG's cyber security relationship with Google Cloud, he brings extensive expertise in cloud security transformation and security operations modernization to help organizations leverage Google's security capabilities at scale.

Throughout his career, Steve has led numerous cloud security initiatives, including the design and deployment of cloud security controls, implementation of security operations automation, and development of incident response capabilities for Fortune 500 clients. His experience encompasses the full spectrum of security operations transformation—from SOC process optimization and security orchestration to the implementation of advanced threat detection and response platforms.

Steve's deep technical background includes directing large-scale security GRC and SecOps implementations, leading identity and access management transformations, and architecting enterprise security monitoring solutions. He has guided organizations through complex security modernization journeys, helping them establish cloud-native security operations that leverage Google Security Operations' advanced capabilities for threat detection, investigation, and response.
