Luis Aisenberg
Tax Director
Luis Aisenberg joined KPMG in Uruguay in 1993 and is currently a director of its tax and legal department. He is in charge of the international tax law, mergers and acquisitions, and transfer pricing practices of the Uruguayan firm. In his role, Luis regularly provides professional advice in the areas of tax law, corporate law and foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence procedures, transfer pricing, customs duties, and global mobility.
Luis has vast experience in assisting multinational companies on legal and tax aspects related to their establishment and operations in Uruguay. He provides services to clients a number of sectors, including industry, commerce, financial, and services. His experience also entails coordination and execution of due diligence procedures, where he has performed these services for companies across a variety of sectors.
Luis is the author of the book Accounting and Tax Treatment of Financial Trusts. He has published a number of articles on tax and legal issues He also teaches Tax Law at the University of Montevideo (Tax Legislation, Comparative Legal Systems) and postgraduate courses on International Tax Planning at the Universidad de la República.
Luis graduated from the School of Law and Social Sciences of the Universidad de la República with a Doctor in Law and Social Sciences degree. In addition, he has completed postgraduate studies at the University of London in the area of international tax law.
