Permanent or Passing? A Board Lens on Macro Disruptions

Caitlin leads a team of analysts that examine political risk from global, country, and sectoral perspectives to assess implications for multinational corporations and institutions. Previously, she was an engagement manager on Eurasia Group's consulting team, overseeing bespoke projects that helped clients incorporate international macro risk into their strategic planning through scopes including market assessment and prioritization, scenario planning, government relations, and market entry.

Before joining Eurasia Group, Caitlin was a strategy consultant with PwC; worked on US Senator Dick Durbin's foreign policy and defense policy staff; and covered political, economic, and business issues for Dow Jones Newswires' Brussels bureau. She also launched international education projects including an outdoor youth teambuilding nonprofit and a summer program for Yale University.

Caitlin earned a master of business administration from the Yale School of Management and a bachelor's degree in political science and international studies from Yale College. She is fluent in French and understands basic Dutch. A former Belgian Girl Guide, Caitlin is happiest when outdoors—she has biked across the US, survived in the desert with primitive gear, and dogsledded across the Boundary Waters.

Robert's research focuses on macroeconomic policies and the transmission of shocks throughout the global economy. For much of his career he has also studied the resolution of sovereign debt crises and financial distress, including the role of debt restructuring.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Robert was an economic consultant and adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University. Before that, he was a senior fellow for international economics at the Council on Foreign Relations, a senior strategist with Moore Capital Management, and a senior adviser in the financial policy department at the World Bank, where he focused on financial sector assessments for developing economies and was the bank's liaison to the secretariat of the Financial Stability Forum. Robert has also held senior staff positions at the IMF and at Citigroup; he served as the head of the Office of Industrial Nations at the US Treasury and was a senior economist on the Council of Economic Advisers and the Federal Reserve Board.

Robert received a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago and a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
