With continued volatility impacting the industry, it’s imperative that energy and natural resource organizations have a go-to source of energy data.
KPMG is proud to be working in association with the Energy Institute on the latest Statistical Review of World Energy. The Statistical Review compiles and analyses data on world energy production, consumption, and emissions from the prior year. It has been providing timely, broad-ranging, and objective data to the energy community since 1952. It is free for users to access.
The new 2024 edition of the Statistical Review of World Energy will be published on Thursday 20 June 2024, providing free-to-access data on global energy production, consumption, trade and emissions for the full year 2023.
Record energy consumption, record renewable power generation, and record fossil fuel consumption - the Statistical Review of World Energy shows progress can be enigmatic. In the U.S., amid the early days of the AI boom and a boom in manufacturing, our dependence on fossil fuels decreased from 2022. As AI adoption only increases and more demands are put on the grid, sustaining this progress in the U.S. will require significant investments in modernizing the grid and connecting it to multiple energy sources.
