  • Fiona is a senior member of KPMG’s National Stamp Taxes Group and leads KPMG’s stamp taxes offering in the midlands.
  • Fiona joined KPMG in 2005 and has over 20 years of stamp taxes experience having previously worked at HMRC Stamp Taxes Office including several years as an SDRT auditor and is a member of HMRC’s Shares Working Together Group. She has extensive stamp taxes experience including stamp duty land tax, land & buildings transaction tax, land transaction tax, the annual tax on enveloped dwellings, stamp duty and SDRT. 
  • She has advised a broad spectrum of clients from the retail, commercial, banking, finance, property and public sectors on a vast range of transactions, such as complex international corporate restructuring, domestic and international IPOs, regeneration and development projects, joint venture structures including partnerships, land and corporate acquisitions, sale and leaseback, etc.
  • She regularly advises (including as part of multi-disciplinary teams) on transitions between funds (both UK and overseas). This includes feasibility studies and advice on rationalisations, mergers, seeding, switches, and distributions etc. 
  • Fiona was involved in the consultation with HM Treasury on seeding relief from SDLT for Authorised Contractual Schemes and has written commentary for the Finance Act Handbook.
