Greece: Tax measures in 2027 budget

Increased taxes on executive compensation and property transfers by non-EU tax residents

November 5, 2026

The Ministry of National Economy and Finance on October 5, 2026, proposed tax measures as part of the 2027 budget, including an increased 15% tax on executive profit-sharing compensation above €60,000 and an increase in the property transfer tax for non-EU tax residents from 3% to 15% from July 2027.

The government’s 2027 economic and tax agenda, announced by the Prime Minister in September 2026, also included a gradual reduction of advance corporate tax payments, a phased repeal of the entrepreneurship duty (τέλος επιτηδεύματος), and accelerated depreciation for business investments.
