Slovenia: Proposed legislation includes tax cuts, contribution cap, VAT changes
The proposed legislation would reduce tax and social contribution revenues by about €1 billion.
The National Assembly on May 11, 2026, advanced the Zakon o interventnih ukrepih za razvoj Slovenije (ZIURS) following committee reporting on the amended text the same day.
According to the government’s formal opinion, the bill would reduce tax and social contribution revenues by about €1 billion. The proposal would introduce broad intervention measures affecting tax and social security systems, with a focus on tax cuts, a contribution cap, and temporary VAT changes.
