Sri Lanka: Implementation of VAT on digital services by nonresidents postponed again

Postponed a further three months, until July 1, 2026

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) on March 31, 2026, issued a notice announcing that the implementation of value added tax (VAT) on the cross-border provision of digital services has been further postponed to July 1, 2026. The regulation was originally scheduled to be effective from October 1, 2025, and was previously postponed to April 1, 2026 (read TaxNewsFlash).
