Botswana: Tax proposals in 2026-2027 budget

Including raising corporate income tax rate by 3% and reducing zero-rated VAT list

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development on February 9, 2026, presented the 2026-2027 budget proposals to the National Assembly, which include:

  • Raising the corporate income tax rate by 3%
  • Increasing individual (personal) income tax by 2.5% for top earners (annual income above P400,001)
  • Reducing the zero-rated value added tax (VAT) list
