U.S. BIS renews temporary denial order for Russian airline
Temporary denial of export privileges for one year
The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) today released an order renewing the temporary denial of export privileges for a Russian airline. The renewal, effective immediately, extends the order for one year to prevent imminent violations of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The initial temporary denial order (TDO) was issued on June 24, 2022, and has been renewed multiple times due to the airline's repeated violations of the EAR. The violations include operating aircraft subject to the EAR on flights into and within Russia without the required authorization. The BIS's decision to renew the TDO is based on evidence of ongoing violations.
