U.S. BIS adds 407 HTSUS codes to list of products subject to steel and aluminum tariffs
Effective August 18, 2025
The U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the Department of Commerce today released notice announcing the addition of 407 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) codes to the list of products that will be considered as steel or aluminum derivative products under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. These products will now be subject to steel and aluminum tariffs based on their respective content, while non-steel and non-aluminum components will remain subject to other applicable tariffs.
Effective August 18, 2025, the duties outlined in the annexes of the notice will apply to the newly added steel and aluminum derivative products.
