President-elect Donald Trump announced nominations for Treasury Secretary and IRS Commissioner
President-elect Donald Trump announced that he intends to nominate Scott Bessent, who runs macro hedge fund Key Square Group, as the next U.S. Treasury Secretary.
Trump also announced that he intends to nominate Michael Faulkender, a professor of finance at the University of Maryland’s business school and chief economist at the America First Policy Institute, as the Deputy U.S. Treasury Secretary.
Finally, Trump announced that he intends to appoint Billy Long, who served as the U.S. representative for Missouri's 7th congressional district from 2011 to 2023, to serve as the next IRS Commissioner.
All three nominations must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
