Highlights from KPMG's sponsorship of Stephen Curry's 2024 UNDERRATED Golf Tour
KPMG is proud to have completed another year as title sponsor of the UNDERRATED Golf Tour presented by KPMG. UNDERRATED Golf, a purpose-driven endeavor, was founded by NBA superstar Stephen Curry in 2022 to accelerate equity, access and opportunity for underrepresented and underrated youth in the sport of golf. KPMG and brand ambassador Mariah Stackhouse joined UNDERRATED Golf as partners in 2023.
“KPMG has been a great partner and they've really shown up,” Curry said. “They understand what we're trying to do for these kids on and off the course and give them a first-class experience and that's what they do.”
KPMG provided season-long support at four regional Tour stops across the country for more than 90 student athletes, culminating in an unforgettable experience for 26 top-qualifying Curry Cup participants and their families.
Following the final round of the 2024 Curry Cup at The Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey, KPMG hosted its annual KPMG Leadership Development Day. Curry, Stackhouse and the student athletes joined KPMG at NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square to “ring the bell” to open the markets. Following leadership insights shared personally by Curry and Stackhouse, the athletes and their families participated in a day of leadership development activities and interactive workshops held at KPMG Ignition New York. Sessions were led by industry leaders across sports, business and academics, with content developed to inspire long-term success on and off the golf course. Stackhouse, whose vision for positively impact the diversity pipeline in competitive junior golf, personally led one session for the student athletes.
“KPMG is spear-heading this and giving these kids an opportunity of a lifetime," Stackhouse said." I love taking the time to dive in myself and really give thought to the answers I want to give these kids. We have a chance to make a big impact on their developmental journey and I think that's awesome."
