Antonio has over 20 years of experience in domestic and international tax. He leads the Mexican and LATAM indirect tax practice at KPMG Mexico.​

Professional and industry experience​

  • Directly involved with numerous engagements for multinational companies from a wide range of industries, such as e-commerce, construction, energy, real estate, manufacture, retail, services and non-profit.​
  • Antonio specializes in domestic, cross border and indirect taxation. He is responsible for a broad range of Mexican and multinational tax compliance and consulting with public, private and non-profit clients. He also advises family offices and individuals and has implemented effective tax structuring.​
  • As leader of the LATAM indirect tax practice, he has assisted clients achieving efficiencies through tax consulting and refunds in different countries. Deeply involved in advising and complying with the digital economy indirect tax formalities in Mexico and the LATAM region.​
  • He worked with the International Tax practice in KPMG U.S. based in New York where he played an important role of leadership and coordination of several teams from different KPMG member firm offices around the world for international restructuring engagements in a wide range of complex tax matters. He also worked at KPMG U.S. based in Houston, participating in federal and state tax projects in the United States, as well as evaluating and structuring inbound and outbound tax investment projects.​
  • He has successfully assisted corporations to obtain authorization for nonprofit, corporate restructuring and negotiating rulings and lobbying with Mexican tax authorities, including due diligence studies for M&A.​

Publications and speaking engagements​

  • He is a co-writer of the indirect tax book Practicum Fiscal published by Thomson Reuters. Speaker at several events organized by the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants, Mexican Internet Association, chambers of commerce and The Conference Board. Invited lecturer at the University of Monterrey.
