Tony Welburn

Tony is a partner in the KPMG Banking & Capital Markets Practice and leads the Business Tax Services group in that practice. Tony has extensive experience advising regional and community banks on the tax issues that impact them most significantly. Tony’s current and past clients include leaders in banking, insurance, investment management (including broker dealers and investment advisors), and mortgage servicing. Tony has in-depth experience in the field of tax accounting, and has both directed the tax provision review for SEC registrants and assisted consulting clients with large-scale tax provision calculations. Tony’s tax provision consulting includes assisting clients with numerous issues including the computation of interim and year-end tax provisions, preparation of provision to return adjustments, the preparation and review of a tax basis balance sheet, and analyzing uncertain tax positions in compliance with FIN 48.
