Karmen Ward is a partner in KPMG LLP's Department of Professional Practice (DPP) with more than 15 years of experience focusing on technical matters related to digital assets, business combinations, revenue and income taxes. She also consults with engagement teams on complex accounting and SEC matters.
Karmen was a professional accounting fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 2020 to 2022. During this time, she consulted with registrants on accounting and reporting matters and served as a key resource for staff related to the resolution of technical accounting matters. Prior to joining the SEC, Karmen served in KPMG’s DPP assisting Audit teams and clients with complex accounting, financial reporting and audit issues. She also served a variety of Audit clients across many industries.
Karmen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a BBA and master's degree in accounting from The College of William and Mary and is a licensed CPA in Virginia, Texas and New York.
