Josh Tompkins is a Partner in the Financial Institutions and Products group of the KPMG Washington National Tax practice. In this capacity, he works with leading financial institutions, asset managers, and other capital markets participants on tax issues arising from derivatives transactions, issuances or purchases of debt, securitizations, debt restructurings, equity investments, cryptocurrency transactions, and other capital markets transactions.
Josh is the co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Taxation of Financial Products, co-author of the Interest Expense Deductions Bloomberg BNA Portfolio, a contributor to the Taxation of Financial Institutions Treatise, a frequent speaker at tax conferences, and the author of a number of comment letters and articles on financial products issues.
