Joshua Stolarz
Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions Tax
Josh is a Managing Director in the KPMG Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax practice, with over 14 years of experience in public accounting. His career at KPMG has spanned various roles, including serving in the Washington National Tax practice and the New York M&A Tax practice.
Currently, Josh serves as National Lead for M&A Tax GenAI and Technology initiatives, where he spearheads innovative solutions and strategies.
Prior to his current role, Josh managed teams that analyze the tax implications of complex transactions, including divestitures, acquisitions, and restructurings. His diverse business experience also includes over two years as a public auditor, where he gained valuable insights into a wide range of financial accounting matters.
Josh is also an adjunct professor at American University, where he teaches graduate-level courses in corporate taxation, and an author in the Collier on Bankruptcy Taxation treatise. His dedication and excellence have been recognized with the 2024 KPMG Employee Award of Distinction.
