Audit Partner

Jeff Somers is a partner at KPMG and specializes in audit and consulting engagements for public and private companies, including venture capital funds, hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, management companies and registered investment advisors. He also has expertise in analyzing clients’ determination of fair value of debt and equity investments and is often called upon by his clients to consult on deal structuring, deal origination and capital raising. Prior to joining KPMG through a merger, Jeff was the managing partner for the Boston office of Rothstein Kass.

He has been the lead principal on over 40 registration statements and over 20 successful initial public offerings (IPOs), which raised in excess of four billion dollars. The majority of these IPOs were Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs or Public Search Funds) sponsored by the investment community. Jeff also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, reverse mergers and private placements.

Jeff is a certified public accountant in Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a member of The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).
