Yikun (Sky) Shao is a Managing Director with the KPMG Trade & Customs practice based in New York. He is dedicated to creating value for clients through his deep knowledge in cross‑border trade and commerce.

Prior to joining KPMG, Sky served as Head of North America Supply Chain for a Chinese multinational technology company specializing in e-commerce, retail, Internet, and technology B2B marketplace business from 2020 to 2025. In this role, he led strategic initiatives and developed platform‑level solutions to strengthen cross‑border supply chains for business customers. His responsibilities included strategic planning, market evaluation, e‑commerce policy collaboration, partnership management, and platform operations.

Prior to his tenure with this multinational e-commerce company, Sky spent more than 15 years in global trade and customs consulting with another Big Four professional services firm. His international career included five years in China and two years in Japan, before relocating to the United States in 2013. In the US, Sky advised clients across a wide range of industries on the full spectrum of customs and trade matters, working closely with cross‑functional tax and advisory teams to deliver integrated solutions for complex client needs. Leveraging his in‑market experience in Asia and his linguistic capabilities, he also played a key role in business development and relationship management for a broad portfolio of Japanese and Chinese multinational companies.

Sky assists multinational corporations with trade compliance, customs valuation, strategic planning, and tariff mitigation related to cross‑border transactions. He helps clients develop cost‑efficient strategies, enhance global trade compliance programs, resolve customs audits, and implement duty‑saving initiatives.

Sky holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a BA from Shanghai International Studies University.
