Randy works with all aspects of U.S. Indirect Tax (sales and transaction taxes) engagements for KPMG LLP’s (KPMG) State and Local Tax practice.
Prior to joining KPMG in 2001, Randy was employed by the Louisiana Department of Revenue as a Revenue Agent. As a Revenue Agent, he performed sales and use tax audits and worked within the personal income tax division. Randy brings added value and experience to engagements for KPMG clients by combing experience with the Louisiana Department of Revenue and KPMG. He maintains a good working relationship with Louisiana Department of Revenue and also with Louisiana local Parish Tax Administrators.
Randy’s client base includes healthcare, oil & gas, petrochemical, power & utilities and diverse service related companies.
Randy is a key national resource in KPMG’s State Tax Resource Network and keeps clients and KPMG professionals informed of important state and local developments involving local judicial and legislative developments related to Louisiana taxes.
Randy is responsible for delivering a broad array of indirect tax services to companies in many industries. Randy has led numerous teams to deliver results to his clients, including - Obtaining tax refunds (refund analysis) for clients in the oil and gas, medical, retail and utilities industries, Transactional analysis, Voluntary disclosures and ruling requests for clients in a variety of industries, Providing representation for clients under sales/use tax audit and dispute resolution services and Business incentives opportunities, such as the Louisiana Enterprise Zone Program, Louisiana Quality Jobs Program and the Industrial Tax Exemption Program.
He holds BS in Accounting from Southeastern Louisiana University and has CMI-Sales Tax Designation with the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT).
